Santo Spirit is the district of Florence located beyond the left bank dell'Arno. Still retains all the characteristics of the "Old Florence", from the beautiful Porta San Frediano, built by Andrea Pisano in the fourteenth century, to Borgo San Frediano and Borgo Santo Spirito, where the historic shops of the city are located. They are a precious witness of the Florentine artisan tradition, now famous throughout the world and from which would be formed to future arts and city corporations. The tour starts at Santa Maria del Carmine, with the Chapel Corsini, a jewel of Baroque art, and the famous Brancacci Chapel frescoes by Masaccio in the fifteenth century, Masolino and Filippino Lippi. Continue to the Basilica of Santo Spirito, a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, designed by Filippo Brunelleschi and where it is now preserved a famous Crucifix by Michelangelo. The tour, half-day, culminating in the visit of a workshop at the choice, where you can watch a live demonstration in the laboratory, to discover the ancient crafts of Florentine artisans.
